Forge.. New fire

So I did it! I've bought a new forge a couple of months after I start forging, and man, what a difference. It was kind of sad so retire a forge built by me with such a emotional connection, but it was simply not possible to keep working like that. Yes it's true that we don't need a lot of stuff to start forging, and a part of me just wanted a new toy, but there comes a time where you need to have a decent minimum or your interest starts to diminish as frustration starts to become more present.
A forge (as well as an anvil and hammer) is a powerful blacksmith symbol, it's the foundation of a smithy, it's almost a magical tool that seats on the corner of your smithy, silent, not drawing to much attention to self, it's humble and does what it's asked to do, but its the heart of your shop, the vessel to your smithy spirit, a breathing element that keeps you warm as it burns up coal to heat up your work and light up your soul as it softly roars to life.
But you NEED it to be efficient and in proper working conditions so you can dedicate more time smithing and less time waiting for your steel to get hot (that's my logical approach ;) ).

So here it is, I picked it up second hand at a local steel worker shop. Fortunately or fortunately this are pieces of equipment that are more and more obsolete as forging at the forge and anvil slowly dies in Portugal.
